The itinerary presents a comprehensive exploration of the scenic locales surrounding Srinagar, renowned for its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Upon arrival, guests are accommodated in luxurious houseboats or hotels situated amidst the serene Dal Lake, in close proximity to the famed Mughal Gardens and Boulevard Road. These gardens, conceived by Mughal emperors as paradisiacal retreats, now serve as popular picnic destinations, complemented by nearby handicraft shops showcasing a diverse array of locally crafted items such as shawls, jackets, and carpets.
The journey continues with a full-day excursion to Sonamarg, aptly named the “meadow of gold,” where visitors can revel in the breathtaking landscapes and partake in activities such as pony rides and glacier exploration. Returning to Srinagar in the evening, guests enjoy a comfortable overnight stay, followed by a scenic drive to Gulmarg, renowned globally for its skiing and snowboarding opportunities. Once a favored retreat for Britishers during the colonial era, Gulmarg boasts European-style surroundings and an impressive 18-hole golf course.
The itinerary then proceeds to Pahalgam, often referred to as the “valley of shepherds,” where guests can explore the ancient Awantipur ruins and immerse themselves in the scenic beauty of the surrounding forests and streams. A visit to Baisaren village offers further insight into the region’s natural charm.
